Nawaz Sharif to return to Pakistan in October, to lead PML-N's election campaign

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced that he will return to Pakistan in October to lead the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)'s election campaign.

Sharif, who has been living in exile in London since 2019, made the announcement in a video message released on Saturday. He said that he had decided to return to Pakistan after consulting with his party's leadership and the people of Pakistan.

"I have decided to return to Pakistan on October 18," Sharif said in the video message. "I will be leading the PML-N's election campaign and I will fight for the rights of the people of Pakistan."

Sharif's return to Pakistan is likely to be a major boost for the PML-N, which is currently the leading opposition party in the country. The party is gearing up for the next general elections, which are expected to be held in early 2023.

Sharif has been a controversial figure throughout his political career. He has been accused of corruption and nepotism, and he has been convicted of several charges, including money laundering. However, he remains a popular figure among many Pakistanis, especially in Punjab, the country's most populous province.

Sharif's return to Pakistan is likely to be met with a mixed reaction. His supporters will welcome him as a hero, while his critics will accuse him of being a corrupt politician who is out of touch with the needs of the people.

Only time will tell how Sharif's return will affect the political landscape in Pakistan. However, it is clear that his decision to return is a significant development that will have a major impact on the country's future.
